Laccio Side Table by Knoll
designed by Marcel Breuer
The Laccio Tables® were conceived by legendary designer Marcel Breuer as companion pieces to his celebrated Wassily Chair®, but they have endured for nearly a century as stand alone works of art and furniture. The Side Table is square and slightly taller, while the coffee table is low and long. Composed of seamless tubular steel, a revolutionary design material at the time, the tables are topped in satin-finished plastic, coming in three different colors: red, white, and black. The design was inspired by the bicycle, and themes of movement, modernity and usefulness are carried through the furniture. They can be used separately or "stacked" together to create various looks and accommodate several uses. Each product comes with Breuer's signature stamped into the base. Breuer, who began his career at the Bauhaus in Germany and finished it at Harvard, was the first architect to merit a sole exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The top of the Laccio Table is smooth plastic laminate with a satin finish. The base is seamless tubular steel in a polished chrome finish.
