Sigma Mobile FileDesigned for freedom and movement, the Mirra office chair is for people whose work style doesn't leave much room for sitting still. The intuitive adjustments and dynamic materials support a range of bodies, making this flexible office chair the perfect seat to share with coworkers and family. Mirra 2 comes with two back options to further fine-tune your fit: The ultra-responsive Butterfly Back for a dynamic suspension membrane and the durable, easy-to-clean TriFlex back.

Life calls for jumping from task to task, focus to focus, and this office chair is agile enough for them all. Lean, light, and responsive, Mirra chair's support starts with a flexible design that allows your body to move freely and naturally.

The intuitive adjustments on the Mirra 2 allow you to fine-tune the fit while its dynamic materials and surfaces respond to support a range of bodies and movements. Mirra 2’s Loop Spine provides what we in the biz like to call "torsional flex", which lets you stretch and reach laterally. When you’re ready to recline, the Harmonic 2 Tilt provides a smooth, balanced feel.

As work evolves, and we become more active, shifting from individual to collaborative work in an instant, we need tools designed to be as agile as our work style. To address this need, the designers of Studio 7.5 set out to create a high-performing chair that supports people who work in a constant state of motion.

Designed by Studio 7.5

Sigma Mobile FileThis is the way they’ve operated ever since. “Everybody does everything,” says Schmitz, speaking for the group that now includes Carola’s brother, Roland Zwick, and a small team of seven. “That’s how we cultivate ideas and maintain our openness and curiosity.”

The group’s name—Studio 7.5—comes from an early idea to rent a 7.5-ton truck, put a model shop in it, and drive from one project site to another. Obviously, freedom of movement is important for these designers. They move freely—and smartly—when designing products for their clients.

They love designing furniture, or as they prefer to call it, “equipment,” as in the tools people need for the work that they do. They find designing office chairs in particular to be most rewarding and have worked with Herman Miller on the award-winning Setu, Mirra, and Mirra 2 chairs—and now, Cosm. “We define not only how the chair looks but how it performs,” Carola says. As to how Setu, Mirra, and Cosm all perform for you, they provide comfort no matter how or where you sit. “Our goal is to enable people to assume roles similar to that of a craftsman in his shop, surrounded by what he or she needs to be most productive.”

About Herman Miller

Founded in West Michigan in 1905, Herman Miller has grown to become a world-recognized furniture brand. As a design leader and furniture innovator, they’ve partnered with some of the most influential and iconic designers of the 20th century—designers like Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, Isamu Noguchi, Alexander Girard and more. In doing so, they’ve produced pieces that have become classics of industrial design, many of which are featured on permanent display in museums like the New York Museum of Contemporary Art (MoMA).

Herman Miller continued that legacy in 1994 by partnering with designers Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick. They went about developing an office chair unlike any before it. Bringing together the latest in ergonomic research and design, they developed the legendary Classic Aeron chair, the best selling office chair in the world.

Today, Herman Miller continues that tradition of design forward thinking and innovation. Partnering with the next generation of industrial designers—such as Studio 7.5 and Yves Behar— as they tackle the ergonomic and anthropometric challenges we face in today’s modern work life.

Care & Maintenance

With regular care and maintenance, your Herman Miller product will provide many years of superior performance and satisfaction. Vacuum fabric as needed, using an upholstery attachment. Do not brush fabric or use a vacuum attachment with a rotary brush. Do not use steam. For fabric stains, use a water-based cleaner (specifically made for cleaning fabric) or a solution of mild (alkaline) warm soapy water (not overly soapy) applied with a damp clean cloth or sponge. If leather is soiled, it can be wiped with a soft damp cloth using a lather of any mild soap with lukewarm water. Do not spot clean leather; clean the entire surface.

Asari Work Chairs come with a 12-year Herman Miller warranty. This warranty is a promise that Asari lives up to the highest standards in the industry. If for some reason the chair fails to live up to this standard, Herman Miller will ship and repair it at no cost to you. To learn more read the Herman Miller Warranty.
