About the Designer

David Geckeler

David Geckeler

Based in Berlin, industrial designer David Geckeler creates furniture, interiors, tableware, and lighting. In 2011, his Nerd Chair for Muuto received Becker’s International Design Award. David Geckeler describes his work as simple and detail oriented, with a pinch of courage. “My approach to design begins with an attentive and analytical view on the environment,” he says. “The excitement during the creation process comes from wanting a strong interaction between owner and object. To me, once the first impression drifts off, it is the long-standing fascination for an object or product that constitutes good design.”
