Risom Child's Side Chair by Knoll
designed by Jens Risom
The Risom Child's Side Chair® brings a Scandinavian sensibility to American furniture. Introduced in 1941, the Risom Child's Side Chair was a seismic change in the American design landscape, and helped establish America as the post-war leader in modern design. That first Risom Child's Side Chair was part of a whole line of chairs manufactured and distributed by Knoll, the only company authorized to deal with the Risom Child's Side Chair.
The Risom Child's Side Chair is a stylish wood fame, angled attractively, wrapped and woven in strips of fabric. Originally Risom used parachute strips, due to war time restrictions on materials. Today you can get the Risom Child's Side Chair in any color and style you want.
Born in Denmark, Jens Risom helped establish America as the center of the furniture design world. His creations, including the Risom Child's Side Chair, married a Scandinavian aesthetic and an American sensibility to create some of the most beautiful and lasting furniture this century.
The Risom Child's Side Chair is made of a European Beech hardwood with a toned natural finish.
